Our Monthly Meetings
MountainEars meet monthly in members’ homes or in a local restaurant. Topics range from upcoming group outings to Disney films, musicals, etc., to the hottest Disney items on eBay -- anything in the world of Disney that captures the imagination.
A regular meeting usually begins with an hour of fellowship. Hosts will lay out refreshments, and members will reacquaint themselves and welcome newcomers. Agendas include a business segment – what are the interests and activities we need to focus on right now? But most of the meeting time goes directly to fun.
The host might offer a game, trivia, or otherwise, to engage members. Prizes usually are awarded.
A meeting highlight is sharing. Each member can chat about his or her latest Disney ‘find,’ or talk about a just-completed or impending trek to a favorite Disney theme park, or maybe a movie or book critique. Some will let you know where the best Disneyana items have been popping up. The field is unlimited.
At meeting’s end, it is not uncommon for a host to provide a door prize. The club allows up to $25 each meeting to cover such expenses.
Meetings are on either a Saturday or Sunday, starting at 1 p.m., usually around the third weekend of the month. They usually are adjourned by 5 p.m.
No meeting is held in July to allow members to visit Disneyland on its birthday.
Six newsletters a year also keep members up to date.
