Welcome to the MountainEars Homepage
The Disneyana Fan Club’s Washington state chapter is known as the MountainEars. The DFC is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the legacy of Walt Disney and the men and women who worked for him.
Our chapter, the MountainEars, was formed in 1991. It is comprised of about thirty families along all walks of life. Their Disney interests are diverse as well. Some are dedicated to pin-collecting, others seek vintage Disney collectibles, but most fall somewhere in between.
How is the club funded?
The MountainEars assess annual membership dues of $12 per family. Members also join the parent DFC at $33 a year.
To raise additional operating funds, the club runs a silent auction at each meeting, most often of eight items. The items are donated by members. These auctions can raise $25 or $30 on the low side, up to well over $100 on the high side.
Each year, most of the club's treasury is donated to local non-profits devoted to making young lives better. Club members also purchase hundreds of gifts annually for Seattle Children's Hospital at holiday time.
